MEMPHIS – In an effort to assist the offender population in Shelby County and promote successful reentry, the Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC) held a Career and Resource Fair yesterday at the District Office located on Crump Boulevard.
HENNING – The West Tennessee State Penitentiary (WTSP) hosted an offender resource fair yesterday afternoon. Vendors in attendance were Project Return, Outreach Ministry, Forgiveness House, Persevere, All-Star Training Academy, Man of Valor and Memphis and Shelby County Office of Reentry.
TIPTONVILLE – Yesterday, Northwest Correctional Complex was called into action to help assist the city of Tiptonville save some equipment from damaging floods at the waste water treatment plant.
Nashville – In an effort to assist the offender population of Nashville and Davidson County, the Probation and Parole office on Blanton Avenue will be holding a career fair on Wednesday, March 13th.
KNOXVILLE – In an effort to assist the offender population in Knox County and surrounding communities, the Knoxville Day Reporting and Community Resource Center (DRC/CRC) collaborated with Probation Parole Officers at the Tennessee Department of Correction’s (TDOC) Knoxville Field Office to hold a Career & Resource Fair.
RIPLEY – Earlier today the Tennessee Department of Correction welcomed the next generation of correctional officers into our workforce.
TIPTONVILLE – Earlier today Governor Bill Lee visited a Tennessee Department of Correction facility to speak with staff and tour the vocational programs offered for incarcerated individuals.
MOUNTAIN CITY – The Northeast Correctional Complex (NECX) recently partnered with the Tennessee Department of Agriculture’s Division of Forestry (DOF), making NECX a part of the DOF’s Wildfire Response strategy.
HENNING – Last Thursday, employee’s at West Tennessee State Penitentiary (WTSP) and Women’s Therapeutic Residential Center (WTRC) came together to collect and donate over 200 stuffed animals for children in need. The stuffed animals will be donated to the Carl Perkins Center in Tipton County and used to comfort abused children who go to the center for counseling sessions.
MEMPHIS – On Saturday night, Mark Luttrell Transition Center (MLTC) held its third annual Father/Daughter Dance for residents. During the course of the evening, guests enjoyed dancing, food, family pictures, and games.
SAMBURG – The rain has caused many areas to flood in West Tennessee, especially in Lake and Obion County. As the waters rise, the town of Samburg reached out to Northwest Correctional Complex (NWCX) on Friday and asked for assistance in filling sandbags to help the residents in the community protect their homes and structures.
MEMPHIS – On Thursday night, the Memphis Day Reporting Center (DRC) hosted a Masquerade banquet in honor of the individuals and community partners who donate their time to the clients at the center.
TULLAHOMA - On Friday, February 22, 2019, the Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC) welcomed the next generation of Probation and Parole Officers (PPO’s) into our workforce during a graduation ceremony at the Tennessee Correction Academy in Tullahoma.
